​Plea: Drop-In Summer Help Needed!

What makes right now--that is, the start of summer--unique?

• Regular volunteers take time off to watch grandkids, travel, schedule medical time off, etc.
• Student volunteers drop off almost completely
• Donations surge after rummage sales, estate sales, moving, etc. 

Open shifts on our volunteer calendar are for specific customer-facing roles and hours, but listing only those shifts on the calendar does not mean that they are the only times we can use extra hands to process donations. Below is a list of a few areas that currently are in need, along with optimal times to drop in! You don’t have to wait until 10 am--volunteers are always around by 8 am! Come to the back door east of the donations door at 907 W Racine St any of these times to be introduced to whichever you choose from these jobs (no prior experience needed!):

Toy Dept: 

1. Sort, Clean, Test, Package items such as remote-control cars, Nerf guns, action figures, fidget toys, play doh, Mr. Potato Head, play food, doll furniture & more!
2. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays Anytime

Sorting Clothing:

1. 1st sort- separate into categories of men’s, ladies, children and baby clothing. Every pickup of clothing that doesn’t meet our quality standards (12 pallets about every other week) makes about $500!
2. Monday, Friday, Saturday anytime | Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday afternoons after 1pm

Electronics:

1. Testing Electronic Items
2. Mondays or Wednesday through Saturdays Anytime

Sports/Outdoor:

1. Test/Price Summer inflatables and pool toys and/or Clean/Price Sporting equipment (such as golf clubs, outdoor games, fishing equipment etc.)
2. Anytime!

Backdoor receiving help:

• Saturdays 10-1 or 1-4
• Mondays 10-1 or 1-4
• Tuesdays 1-4
• Fridays 10-1

Donate: Twice is Nice is pleased to accept your donations of resalable items. Need the list of items we cannot accept? Look to the FAQs page. Look for the sign and ring the doorbell at the back of the building from 10-3:30 PM Mon-Sat.
Shop: Not only are there fabulous everyday prices, TiN runs 50% sales at the end of every month. For example, all green-tagged items are 50% off from May 25-30. Then, May 28-30, all green-tagged clothing is only 50 cents! We’re easy-to-find: just a minute east off the Hwy 18 exit off the 26 bypass at 907 W. Racine St., next to the Piggly Wiggly.
