2021 sales recap: With sales at a record high and no mortgage, our gifts to Lakeside were also record-breaking—the $517K gifted (up 41% from 2020) not only helps manage tuition rates but also funded more than 20 special requests, including tables, chairs and a 75” touchscreen display for the new study hall, a scissors lift for building and grounds, and SawStop table saws for woods classes. Interesting fact for the year: sales of Christmas items totaled $59,612.16—that’s 22% of all sales for Oct-Dec!
Volunteer: The Board of Directors credits our Day Managers and 100+ volunteers that kept their focus on our mission to support Lakeside Lutheran High School and other WELS/ELS organizations in southern Wisconsin by keeping our store 100% volunteer-run. Last month we welcomed 11 new Lakeside student volunteers for a day, including Kaylea Affeld (St. Mark, Watertown), Caelan Baney (Zion, Columbus), Brynn Boche and Reyna Rupnow (St. Matthew, Oconomowoc), Jack DePrey (Holy Cross, Madison), Gabriel Hagen and Austin Schwab (St. Paul, Fort Atkinson), Kyle Main (St. John, Juneau), Carly Paske (Zion, Leeds), Natalie Punzel (Trinity, Watertown) and Ianna Wolfram (Eastside, Madison). We’re also beyond grateful for the continuing new adult volunteers including Mark Enger (back door) and Natalie Wollin (pet department). Please consider making Twice is Nice a place where YOU volunteer this year. Shop: Whether first-time or longtime patrons, we sincerely thank our customers and donors of resale items who keep us so busy. Customers seem to have adjusted well to the store hours of 10 am-4 pm Monday-Saturday. We averaged 230 customers per day, every day (with Saturdays being slightly busier (285) and Mondays the slowest (207). We continue to accept donations at the back door from 10-3:30 any day we are open. Keep on visiting us on the west side of Jefferson in 2022! Shop: Thank you to all the volunteers and customers who helped us set a new sales record in October of almost $100K. Christmas items alone just in October brought in $21,225. WOW!

Racine St., next to the Jefferson Piggly Wiggly. Volunteer: We welcomed 14 new volunteers from six different congregations, and we hope many of them return often! Will you join the crew? Could you donate a Saturday a month, or is yours a congregation who could provide a team to volunteer one day a month? Call 920-674-6868, ask for the day manager. What a great way to start 2022 with volunteering time for a vital ministry! Volunteer: Toward this goal, the weekend of October 9-10 is Christmas changeover. We hope to see old and new faces who will help us get a higher than ever amount of Christmas inventory on the floor—LLHS parents and teens, grandparents, friends, groups from Federated congregations—you’re all needed! Beginning 4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 9, the shelves get stripped of merchandise and washed, several hours of work for many hands. Then starting at 8 am on Sunday, Oct. 10, we begin to merchandise Christmas items—an all-day, come-when-you-can for as long as you can. Lunch will be provided Sunday. Enter via the back-donation doors either day. Call the store at 920-674-6868 during open hours or email [email protected] to let managers know you plan to help. THANK YOU! Summer 2021 marked yet another milestone for TiN & Lakeside Lutheran High School—our 100% volunteer store has gifted OVER $6 MILLION to this teen ministry, including general operating, wish list and special projects, since our store began in 1993. With enrollment at 457 this fall, Twice is Nice support just in the past year is the equivalent of $1,000 toward the cost to educate for each & every student.
