Sunday, December 3 is a clothing department sorting “party” from 9 am-4 pm. Volunteers will sort through the many boxes and bags of clothing donations that accumulated during this extra busy time of year. Initial sorting consists of checking for quality (ex: no rips, tears, stains, excessively dirty) and then sorting into groups (men's, women's, children's and infants). Come for a few hours in the morning or afternoon, or for the entire event! All help is truly appreciated (and so needed). As always, light snacks and beverages are available for volunteers. Volunteer parking is behind the building. If it’s your first time with us, you even get a short tour first! Thank you. November 15 marked the 30th anniversary of our first day of business 30 years ago. We celebrated our customers with a wonderful sale, but extra special was the prayer written on behalf of Twice is Nice and shared with all the volunteers:
Dear Lord, During the past 30 years there have been challenges, but you have guided us and led us to decisions that were in the best interest of Twice is Nice. We are thankful for the many blessings you have granted us: great customers, dedicated & faithful volunteers, abundant donations and sales which have given us the opportunity to support students at Lakeside Lutheran High School above and beyond what we anticipated. Be with us as we continue to operate Twice Is Nice and help us work together always for the good of you and always remembering who is really in charge & giving us these many blessings. Amen! Shop: Fall brings sweater weather and seasonal home décor opportunities, and Twice is Nice can help you with that. We know some of you are ready and waiting for our annual Christmas WOW, when all things Christmas (except trees) will be on the sales floor Monday, October 9, at 10 am! We’re easy-to-find and open Mondays-Saturdays from 10-4 PM: just a minute or so east on the Hwy 18 exit off the 26 bypass at 907 W. Racine St., next to the Jefferson Piggly Wiggly.
Volunteer: Toward this goal, the weekend of October 7-8 is Christmas changeover. We hope to see old and new faces who will help us get a higher than ever amount of Christmas inventory on the floor—LLHS parents and teens, grandparents, friends, congregational groups—you’re all needed! Beginning 4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 7, the shelves get stripped of merchandise and washed, several hours of work for many hands. Then starting at 10 am on Sunday, Oct. 10, we welcome help to merchandise Christmas items—an all-day, come-when-you-can for as long as you can. Lunch will be provided Sunday. Enter via the back-donation doors either day. Another immediate need we have is for Friday cashiers; bagging help will be critical during the Christmas ornament-wrapping season! Call the store at 920-674-6868 during open hours or email [email protected] to let Megan know you plan to help. THANK YOU! Store volunteers will host a Warrior Wear area for families coming to Lakeside Lutheran registration August 2 & 8 from 5-8 pm. This has been a popular opportunity in past years for families to buy inexpensive school apparel that’s been donated to Twice is Nice. Stop & shop, ask questions about the store and the amazing blessing it is to the school. Meet the new store manager, Megan, too!
